About

Susie’s professional background is in education. After starting a career as a Secondary English teacher, she then moved into the Special Needs sector, and has spent several years working as a Department Lead for children with severe learning difficulties. Susie’s current research interests draw on this experience, and builds upon her fascination with how and why people learn.

PhD

Susie is currently working towards her PhD, researching the use of Virtual Reality to deliver cognitive training in Primary Schools. There is a specific focus on executive function, and how this can be enhanced. She is passionate about how to maximise learning opportunities for children, and in particular those who, for many reasons, may be disadvantaged at an early age.
