Dr Mark Mason is Interim Provost. He has extensive management experience in higher education including learning, teaching and student engagement, quality assurance and standards, collaborative partnerships and the development of the academic portfolio.
The role of Interim Provost covers all aspects of the student experience across the University including, learning and teaching, student support and wellbeing and the National Student Survey (NSS).
Mark also has line management responsibility for a number of academic and professional services areas across the University.
In addition to his responsibilities as Interim Provost, Mark teaches and researches in his specialist areas of interest: the philosophy of history/historical theory, the work of Jacques Derrida, the history of contemporary continental philosophy and critical pedagogy.
